Why do you need a panoramic tripod head? Unlike typical camera tripod mounts, our panoramic heads, once setup properly allows for the camera/lens to rotate around the NPP. When it comes time to join the images together, using stitching software, the end result will be one larger "seamless" photograph.

Why so many panoramic head choices? Since 2004 we've been listening to the needs of panoramic photographers. They suggest tweaks to existing products and those with more specializes needs suggesting new products. We now have products that fit a particular industry (Real Estate, Engineering etc) as well as type of photography (Gigapixel imagery, HDR etc). While other companies very seldom produce new equipment every year we continue to develop new products.

Here's a snapshot of what fits what:
* If using exclusively fisheye lens (4.5mm-17mm) the R1/R10 series is the best choice.
* With compacts and small DSLR's up 50mm, look to NN3 series.
* If shooting up to 100mm, or HDR look to the more robust the NN4 series.
* 200mm or more, look at the M series.
